【Sweet Revenge】 I just have to say how much I loved this movie. Hey, maybe Im a sucker for fairy-tales and happy endings!! Whatever it is, I really did enjoy this movie even though it was not totally like the fairy tale that we were all told when growing up or even the real life of Prince Henry. There is no magic! We see no fairy god-mothers’ to save the day...only Leonardo Da Vinci...who is out of his time period. There are no horses and pumpkin coaches to drive Danielle to the ball. The story of Prince Henry’s marriage to Danielle De Barbarac is just totally made up, as in real life, he married Catherine de Medici. I found it funny when Danielle got in trouble for not warning her stepmother of Prince Henry’s impending arrival. Jeez, such pettiness is unreal. It’s not like they aren’t dressed up looking pretty everyday, when Danielle is left with the rags. Rodmilla did not even give Danielle the chance to be what she was meant to be. All she cared about was herself. She didn’t even care about her own daughters’. She only wanted them to look pretty so that they reflected well on her. The only reason she cared about Marguerite’s well-being and marriage options was so that she can be the mother of a princess. And Marguerite was just a mini to her mother. Guess that comes with being the eldest of the two. She fools herself into thinking that Henry will have any interest in her...even though he shows her none. But Huston did a wonderful job playing the evil stepmother. She has talent, poise, and that perpetual evil look about her that made her perfect for the role. Jacqueline was a character who was unfortunately placed in the background as she lived in the shadow of her beauty queen elder sister. She is comely, meek and a bit on the chubby side. She doesnt approve of Danielle’s treatment by her mother and tries to help the girl out whenever she can, but not at the expense to herself, so not to incur her mother’s wrath.★★★★★
