Sabrina Peterson (Julia Roberts)is an up and coming reporter for The Globe. She is determined to get to the bottom of the train crash. Her competition at the Chicago Chronical Peter Bracket (Nick Nolte) is trying to make sure that he is the one to come out with the truth first. He claims that he is innocent and been framed. A polygraph test confirms his innocence. Peterson (Roberts) gets a lead when a young man calls claiming to have information. He and his friends lifted some things from the train wreck and think that they may help. In the mean time Bracket (Nolte) has found a lead of his own. The one surviving person from the back of the train has come forward with a video. Now it is time to see if this new information will lead anywhere. Both Bracket and Peterson get a clue that leads them to a science teachers wife Deloris Binkman. She says that she will meet them where she works. When Bracket and Peterson get there they about get swashed by an elevator gone nuts. Only to turn around and get shot at. After getting away they go back to the Binkman home for answers. Both find seperate clues at the house that end up putting them on a flight together to Springcreak, Wisconsin. On the flight to Wisconsin they agree to team up and gather information together. They will remain writing seprate though. They both find out about LDF (a genetic hormone) that is shot into a cow at a young age. After nine months you have a full grown money making milk producing cow. Chess chemical company is the maker of LDF. If this hormone is FDA approved it means a billion dollars a year for the Chess corporation.!! What follows next is a few laughs. From the car ride from hell to an unintentional wedding in Vegas.
